Is there any possibility that you can affect the object quality directly from Excel? In other words is Excel output lower quality than Excel and older? Is there a setting that changes that? I don't know if this will be fixed or changed before the final version of Publisher is released to the public.
From what I understand there is still a built-in method of submitting 'bugs' from each program that you might try. Look under Help??? Sorry I am not of more help but for a variety of reasons I have opted to not install Pub yet and thus my knowledge about this version is minimal.
I decided to install Pub this afternoon and will continue to look for a solution. In the meantime please leave the images posted. Can you import Excel spreadsheets into Pub and workaround the problem that way? I know that you said that you don't want to run multiple versions of Office but perhaps you won't have the same problems if you just run multiple versions of Publisher.
I know you cannot run multiple versions of Outlook and running multiple versions of Word and Excel can also create problems. I also know that if you want to do a email merge or send a Publisher html formatted email via Outlook that the versions have to be the same. However, I have Pub - installed on a couple XP machines, and Pub , and installed on a Win 7 machine without any problems.

To answer number 1 - I was able to print to the virtual printers successfully. To answer number 2 - other Office products print fine - however they are Office programs.
In addition, you have a number of options to format your picture in your publication. Just head over to the Format tab when your picture is selected and you can start tailoring your images. Building blocks make it easier for you to build and customize your publication by giving you pre-made elements.
You can find these under the Insert tab on the ribbon:. By exploring a few customizations, you can easily select an element you want and then click and drag to reposition and resize the element accordingly. Microsoft Publisher has these building blocks built right in, but you can also create your own.

Since I'm seeing an identical print menu on each of the three different kinds of printers, the print menu is obviously being generated by Publisher.
It's a print menu I've never seen before. Is there a master switch or setting that is causing my trifold template to only print in the portrait orientation? I have set and reset the orientation to landscape using the toolbar at the top of my Publisher document, so that's not the problem. The printer menu won't give me any orientation choice.
